Moscow Exchange will add 2 new industry indices

Investing.com — Two new ones will be added to the sectoral indices of the Moscow Exchange: indices of information technology and construction companies.

«The new indicators will demonstrate the dynamics of these sectors of the Russian economy and will provide private and institutional investors with additional opportunities to analyze strategies for working on the securities market», — said in the message of the marketplace.

Securities of Mail.ru Group (MCX: MAILDR), HeadHunter (NASDAQ: HHR), Ozon (NASDAQ: OZON) and Yandex MCX: YNDX) are planned to be included in the IT industry index..

Yandex shares jumped 5% today, which was probably also facilitated by the news that on December 4, 2020, futures-based options on futures on ordinary shares will start trading on the derivatives market of the Moscow Exchange «Yandex N.V.». First expiration of stock options «Yandex» will take place in March 2021.

Ozon depositary receipts add about 3%, HeadHunter receipts — 0.16%, while Mail.ru Group is losing 3.6% as of 19:10 Moscow time.

The base for calculating the sectoral index of construction companies will include shares of Samolet Group (MCX: SMLT), PIK Group (MCX: PIKK), LSR Group (MCX: LSRG) and Etalon Group. Shares of these companies did not show strong movements today.

The start date for calculating new industry indices will be announced later.

Today, the Moscow Exchange calculates indices for eight sectors of the Russian economy: oil and gas, electricity, telecommunications, metals and mining, finance, consumer goods, chemicals and petrochemicals, and transport.
